Therapy for Medical Illnesses for Children, Teens, and Young Adults

Counseling for Kids and Teens with Medical Conditions

We provide individual child therapy and family therapy sessions for addressing the various stressors that can come with having a medical condition from getting used to the changes a new diagnosis brings, to managing medical directions for treatment, chronic pain, speaking to other children or siblings about the diagnosis, discussing tough emotions, fear of needles, to avoidance of care.

Some of these medical conditions include: Type 1/Type 2 diabetes, traumatic injuries, chronic pain, encopresis, Sickle Cell Disease, cerebral palsy, PCOS, paralysis after an accident, Turner Syndrome, anxiety after severe asthma attack, and others.

Therapy for Young Adults with Medical Conditions

Growing up with a medical condition and learning how to manage stressors in college or while working can be very difficult. You are taking on so much more independence and want to explore who you are, your own values, as well as figuring out your health.

For others, you may have just been diagnosed with a medical condition and figuring out how to live with the changes you have to make.

I provide individual therapy for young adults struggling with these issues and more, to help you find your own balance, sharpen your perspective, and express your emotions.
